GYM to Office Conversion With Polyurethane Void Fill

Void Fill For Downtown Lakewood Belmar

Liftech Provides Custom Solutions For All Unique Situations

2nd Story GYM to Office Conversion

Downtown Lakewood, in the Belmar Shopping District, a 24 Hour Fitness GYM has closed it’s doors & lifted their last weights.  The premier shopping district of Belmar is renovating that exact 2nd story space into mix of additional retail locations, appartments, and offices.

Liftech scheduled 2 polyurethane foam injecting trucks & crews for the project to ensure we had the tools & man power to efficiently tackle this project.

Stabilizing Bouncy Floors

Under the previous thick GYM rubber mats, the 2nd story floor was about 4 inch thick concrete with~2 inch diamater floor spings every 5 square feet.  This was the structural engineering to allow heavy weights to be stored, lifted, & dropped without ruining the floors.

While a spring-loaded floor is an important feature for a 2nd story gym, it would be an annoying feature for a soon-to-be renovated office setting.  The goal isn’t to lift the concrete, but rather stabilize the concrete from the springs by filling the void under concrete floor.

Stabilizing Over 8,700 SQ Ft

The space was originally built as an open GYM concept, a typical 24 Hour Fitness and most other corporate box GYMs.

Professional Commercial Concrete Stabilization Services

Liftech teams arrived punctual & early, before the sunrise & other contractors could arrive.  Our teams surveyed the floor plan and strategically drilled 100s of injection holes.

Since this was a second story, our teams knew the percise depth for each injection to ensure we didn’t drill right through the floor & 1st story ceiling.

Superior Technology & Tools For Concrete Stabilization

300 ft of hose was required to reach the entire 2nd story floor from our Liftech vehicles with our Polyurethane pump equipment in the parking lot.

At Liftech, we pride ourselves in being fully equipted with the lastest and most advanced stabilization tech to address all unique situations.  We’re the highest rated concrete stabilization for both residential and commercial applications in the Colorado Front Range for a reason.

Concrete Stabilization For All Commercial Applications

Liftech ultimately injected >2,000lbs of polyurethane foam to successfully stabilize the entire 2nd floor.

During the process, it was incredible to feel the noticable difference between the areas that were stabilized & the areas that still had the spring-loaded void.  An absolute success from the estiamtor and repair technicians.
